About the Challenge
How much does it cost to register?
The challenge is free to join! We encourage each participant to aim to raise at least $400, and each team $1,000 to support Gidget Foundation Australia. Every dollar helps to provide vital support services to help Australian parents impacted by perinatal depression and anxiety (PNDA).
How do I track and share my progress?
Link Fitbit, Strava, MapMyFitness or Garmin to automatically track your porgress. Or record the milestones manually on your fundraising dashboard. Then create a blog and share with friends and on social using #Gidget100K.
What if I don't reach my active goal?
The challenge is about stepping up for the 100,000 Australian parents with perinatal depression and anxiety, not perfection. Every kilometre accomplished counts, and every dollar raised can still change a life.
What can I do for the challenge?
You can walk, run, cycle, dance, swim or even row to complete 100km for the Gidget 100K Challenge. Use the challenge as a chance to push your limit. Try a new activity, or go a little further than you thought you could – all while supporting a great cause.
If you want to aim higher or a bit lower, you can also do that during registration.
Do I have to the challenge on my own?
No, you can go solo or as part of a team. Doing it alone can test your limits, or you can gather friends to take on the challenge together.
How do I register as a team?
Sign up for the Gidget 100K Challenge and choose to create a team during registration. Complete the registration steps, and receive your team page URL to share with others.
How do I join an existing team?
You can ask the team leader to share the team URL or search for the team on our Leaderboard. Once you find the right team, click the team name and select “Join Us” to register.

Our services support individuals, couples, and parent-infant pairs, including those experiencing or recovering from depression, anxiety, trauma, or pregnancy and childbirth loss.
Where does the money raised go?
Your contribution helps to:
- Provide parents with online support and resources when anxiety strikes
- Fund free specialist psychological therapy in-person or through Telehealth to help parents impacted by mental illness
- Ongoing care to help families thrive long-term.
Are donations tax-deductible?
Yes! Gidget Foundation Australia is a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR). Donations of $2 AUD or more are eligible for a tax deduction. You’ll receive a tax-deductible receipt via email immediately after making your donation.
What is perinatal depression and anxiety (PNDA)?
PNDA (perinatal depression and anxiety) is a treatable mental health condition that affects 1 in 5 mums and 1 in 10 dads, impacting around 100,000 Australian parents each year. PNDA occurs when symptoms of depression and anxiety affect an expectant or new parent for two weeks or more, significantly impacting their daily functioning.
What if I don't meet my fundraising goal?
It's okay if you don't meet your fundraising goal. Every dollar you raise still contributes to Gidget Foundation Australia's work supporting parents with perinatal depression and anxiety (PNDA).
Gidget Foundation Australia is a not-for-profit organisation that exists to support the mental health of expectant, new and potential parents to ensure they receive accessible, timely and specialist care.
We promote awareness, drive advocacy, educate and deliver services to prevent and treat perinatal mental health issues through early detection and intervention.
