Walking 100km for the Mothers Who Need Support

Wednesday 4th Mar

This March, I’m committing to walk 100km to raise funds for the incredible work of Gidget Foundation Australia.

As a postpartum doula and the founder of The Garden of She, I work closely with mothers in the tender, life-changing season of early motherhood. It’s a time that can be beautiful, but also incredibly vulnerable. Many women are navigating sleep deprivation, identity shifts, emotional overwhelm and the quiet pressure to “hold it all together.”

The truth is, no mother should have to do that alone.

The Gidget Foundation provides specialised perinatal mental health support for mothers and families across Australia. Their work ensures that women experiencing anxiety, depression, or emotional distress during pregnancy or after birth can access the help they need.

This cause matters deeply to me because I see firsthand how powerful support can be. A listening ear, a nourishing meal, a safe space to speak honestly- these things can change everything for a mother.

Throughout March, our little community will be walking together, moving our bodies, bringing our babies and toddlers along, and showing up for a cause that truly matters. Every kilometre represents a step towards better mental health support for mothers across Australia.
